Please see my previous sample photo in earlier posts of the bag on display for a gauge on the size and shape. You can view my previous uploads February.

Your bags will be brand new and unused.

A.Blue Quail - SOLD

I think the bird featured on the bag is a Quail as it looks rather similar to the one printed on my BTS card. Hee…

It is perched peacefully on the branches and surrounded by luscious leaves. Classic design!

Anyway, JT designs are always close to nature – Flowers, birds, animals, greenery etc. These are perhaps, to show Jim Thompson’s love for Thailand’s natural resources and he being a nature lover. Sad to know that he disappeared mysteriously in Cameron Highlands (Malaysia), many years ago.

B. Artsy-farty - SOLD

If you are an art-lover and have a penchant for abstract art, then this is just the bag for you! :o)

This tote bag is *artsy*, stylish and yet decently made and functional.

Please email the design of your preference – Blue Quail or Artsy-Farty.

For local and international orders: Please email me for postage details on JT bags due to the size and weight

Cha Lita Wu Bags (Cath Kidston "Inspired").

Just a background on Cath Kidston. Cath Kidston is a British lady who founded a line of quirky, vintage and English-Country style bags, accessories, furniture, fabric and wallpaper etc. In 1993, she opened her first shop in London's Holland Park. Her product range expanded and now, there are 41 shops in the UK, two shops in Ireland, 15 in Japan and four in Korea. I understand that there is one gonna be opened in Bangkok very soon too!

And in Bangkok, it is the rage now to see almost every Thai carrying one look-alike type of Cath Kidston "inspired" bags, haa..

Anyway, I've only brought 3 of them and the brand name is "Cha Lita Wu"..haa..But the quality of the bags is just as good and more affordable.

The fabric is not "oil-cloth" like the original Cath Kidston bags, but rather, it is made from PU material, texture is rather similar like the "oil-cloth" feel ("plastic-water-resistant" feel type but durable)..hee..

Happy browsing and shopping!

News...

Hi all,

I came back from a fulfilling (although worrying) trip from Bangkok last week and amazingly, inner Bangkok was very dry and sunny! I had an enjoyable stay there! Although there was news all over the world that it was flooded and the Travel advisory said not to visit Bangkok, I still went with my gut feeling. The news was totally blown out of proportion actually. Okay, there are still floods but mostly in the outskirts. Please pray for the flood victims and their families and that the floods will recede soon.

My stay in Bangkok was also different this time. Instead of just shopping and eating, I took part in a 4 hour cooking class. It is an intiative by a Christian group to help the poor community there. It was enriching experience and I felt good that I could contribute to the poor community in the slum areas there. I will try to talk more about it in my later posts another day.

Meantime, I will be announcing my new range of limited edition Jim Thompson bags. only 6 pieces. So it is while stocks last! Sorry that I couldn't bring back that many from Bangkok due to the worrying situation there. I was a little bit paranoid that the the city area could be flooded anytime and I didn't want to risk my life. But my worries were unfounded actually.;p

So stay tuned tonight at Singapore time between 9pm to 10pm.

Hey Ho! And one more upload! -Balinese .0925 dingle dangle earrings – SGD$33.90

These earrings are made from sterling silver (including the ear hooks) and they are “longest” amongst the other silver earrings featured. The whole drop (from the hooks) measures about 6cm.

Balinese .925 Leafy sterling earring with Carnelian stone and gold foil – SGD$42.90

This pair of “vintage-styled” designed earrings is my favourite and the ‘priciest’ of the lot because it has petite carnelian gemstones and the “gold foil” (18ct) coating (if you can see the slight tinge of gold color on top)

Length of earrings measures about 4cm (from the ear hook). Width of charm measures about 1.5cm

Carnelian stone is 0.5cm. Carnelian is said to be a power stone and brings one good luck! But it’s only a legend and belief but anyhow, who says you can’t wear it for fun yah?;p

It will be a good conversational piece when you go on a hot date, group outings or to parties too!

Sterling silver accessories can last you a lifetime, if you know how to care for them. Just polish them with sunshine cloth or any silver polishing cloth that any silver shops in your home country provide.

Balinese 925 sterling silver “Tree of Life” earrings –SGD$35.90

This design is called the “Tree of life” by my Indonesian supplier. If you look closely, the design looks a little like a tree with its branches spread out but curled up nicely to depict the luscious “leaves”.

Tree of life jewellery can be designed in different forms around the world. Some are celtic looking which symbolize birth, the heavens and earth etc. or some even come in spiral designs or even very tree like!

Height (including the sterling hook): Approximately 4 cm
Height and width of charm itself: Approximately 2cm each

Wear this pair of silver drop earrings to bring yourself Good Karma into your life and life’s journey! Or just wear it with a plain white tee and in your favourite denim!

One more note...

My next buying trip in November to BKK may be cancelled if the floods there worsen. I was really looking forward to my long awaited break in the "land of smiles". But am sad that it might not materialise.

Hence, I may not be able to bring in JT bags or other great finds from there.

Please pray that the rain will stop miraculously and that I may be able to leave by early Novemeber.

Thanks and God Bless!

Tuesday, August 02, 2011

Hey!

Hey there everybody!

It's been more than a month since you've last heard from me. Been bogged down by work (as usual). Late nights. No fun but can't be helped as it's the Asian culture that we stay OT. No life pratically..

Anyway, I make myself happy by bringing new 'treasures' (accessories) to you.

As for queries on Jim Thompson bags, umm..am sorry that I won't have any new stock till November (but no promises). And perhaps, you can start shopping for Christmas presents then!

Currently, the only bags I have are from "NaRaYa".

I would like to thank my local and overseas buyers for patronising my blogshop. Also, the support rendered from some of my closest friends, acquaintances, cousin and family members.:)

When I first started the blogshop. There had been hurtful comments from a few (including friends whom you think you can count on) who would pass remarks like "why waste your time as it's not making money", "you have so much time in the world to do the blogshop", "are you sure you did the site on your own?" etc. and even a stranger from 'out of the blue' criticising my blogshop and not making any purchase at all. These are people who are jealous and try to put me down. But I am not deterred because this blogshop is just a 'hobby' and it is never easy to start a business. In life, there're many obstacles one must go thru' and overcome. No one siad that life is a bed of roses, right?;p

I'd also like to make shopping online a delightful experience for my customers. And it's fun being an "entrepreneur", don't you think so? ;) It's something to keep my mind busy and make myself happy too since I am single still.

Well, folks, no matter what. This shop will still stay.:)

And to those who have bought treasures from me before, a warm thank you and I hope that you'll love them as much as I do.:)

Do spread the word...thanks!

Cheers!
Joandy

Sick and post holiday blues

Hiya everyone,

In case you're wondering what's happened to me. Well, as usual, work has been keeping me extremely busy and I work really, really long hours. By the time I get home, it's 'supper time'.

I have also been unwell in the early part of May and also in late May till early June. The strange thing is - I was fine during my holiday in Italy from 15 May to 24 May 2011.

Although I still like Eastern Europe better, I am already missing my Italian holiday.

Went on a tour but the itinerary was filled with "shopping sprees" at factory outlets and high-end malls which was not really my "cup of tea". I'd prefer more sight-seeing actually. But nevertheless, I was happy that I managed to say a few prayers in the Gothic churches and bought many "Holy items". Ate pizza and gelatoes all the way. But when I came back, I was down with bad flu and cough and only recovered last Friday. Groan. I was on medical leave before my holiday too. Nevertheless, it was a good break and now, it's back to reality.

I have not been posting any new items lately as I am rather tired - physically and mentally tired. Many "issues" are evolving at work and also, I have been asking myself what to do about my future, although I am getting on in my years.

But anyway, I will be taking part in a flea market (my first ever) to be announced soon!

When I am ready, I will commence to post new items.

Meantime, I wish you well and do check out my blogshop off and on for updates or 'stories' I might share. :)

Have a good week ahead!

Happy Labour day weekend!

Hi hi!

I hope to get some of my new accessories uploaded, but currently, due to my lethargy from my long hours at work, I am truly exhausted. But my shop is still open for business so send me an email and I'll respond to you quickly.:)

But I am looking forward to my long awaited break in 3 weeks' time! So will be on a hiatus after 15 May 2011.

I'd like to thank all my friends and customers for their support. And I'll be extending the discount offer of 15% till 15 May 2011.

I also hope to bring in more goodies after my break! Joandy's treasures is not just accessories and bags but they can be "treasures" of other kinds. hee..

Stay tuned!
Joandy
