Oh! Good Grief!

Alamak! Blogger has changed some formats and I am not used to them. Now, I have to think how to upload the pictures of my Spring/Summer JT bags collection and my other new accessories. Hello there!

Been quiet for sometime. Very, very busy with work. Hardly have any time to focus on my blogshop. By the time I get home, it's past 9pm or 10pm. So no energy or zest to post photos. That's why it is pretty 'dormant' and cause for delay. Sorry for keeping everyone waiting. But am happy to have some lovely customers and queries.:)

Other than being 'busy', I practically try to catch up with my sleep, surf onlone, watch my DVDs - "Chuck and The Mentalist" are my favourite TV series. haa..Went on a short cruise with my parents and relatives in March.

Yesterday came back from Bangkok. Soaked in the sun and the Songkra festival there (just by coincidence). Was splashed at with water by the friendly Thais there. "Showers of Blessings"! :)

And yes, and not forgetting you customers. I bought very limited JT bags because of my luggage space constraints, and the blazing hot weather, it's not easy lugging them around with me. So each visit to Bangkok, I can only bring about 5-7 pieces.

I did try to buy some Cath Kidston inspired bags. But surprisingly, there were not many. Perhaps, the original shop has just been opened in December last year. So maybe because of the copyrights law that imposed some stringent rules.

Okay, enough said. Hope I didn't bore you so far..haa..

I'll be back officially on 1st May, 2012 (Labour day). Not only will I be bringing new goodies, but there will be some discounts given for my previous stocks, like earrings and other bags still available.

I have been out of touch for awhile, but it doesn't mean that I have totally 'disappeared'. My stuff is still on sale in my blogshop but it will be on a 'hiatus' till end of March as I need to sort out my inventory. In case you have checked out my FB page, I did mention a few times that I'll be launching new accessories but I have not gotten the time. So sorry.

Well, how did 2011 end for you and did you have a good kick off to 2012? I hope you did!:)

I had quite a stressful year last year (especially towards the later half of the year) and it has spilled-over to the new year too! It's mostly work-related and I am still trying to "re-organise" my life and have a "work-life" balance which almost seems rather impossible. Sigh..On a happy note, my younger sis got married last year and it was a happy moment for my family. I am still single and looking for 'the one' though (but i doubt so because I am not really young anymore..haa).

Anyway, I am still maintaining this website and hope to bring more amazing products to you. I have two 'projects' that I do wish to have work in progress, that is, one is to launch a website selling Christian/Catholic items, and the other, is to launch my own handicraft work on Etsy. So stay tuned! Am wrecking my brains what to name them! haa..

A.Blue Quail - SOLD



I think the bird featured on the bag is a Quail as it looks rather similar to the one printed on my BTS card. Hee…

It is perched peacefully on the branches and surrounded by luscious leaves. Classic design!

Anyway, JT designs are always close to nature – Flowers, birds, animals, greenery etc. These are perhaps, to show Jim Thompson’s love for Thailand’s natural resources and he being a nature lover. Sad to know that he disappeared mysteriously in Cameron Highlands (Malaysia), many years ago.

The Fiji bags' shape is slightly different from the previous ones I have carried. They a little bit more “squarish” in shape but still larger and more roomy than the Dickson bag.

Cha Lita Wu Bags (Cath Kidston "Inspired").

Just a background on Cath Kidston. Cath Kidston is a British lady who founded a line of quirky, vintage and English-Country style bags, accessories, furniture, fabric and wallpaper etc. In 1993, she opened her first shop in London's Holland Park. Her product range expanded and now, there are 41 shops in the UK, two shops in Ireland, 15 in Japan and four in Korea. I understand that there is one gonna be opened in Bangkok very soon too!

And in Bangkok, it is the rage now to see almost every Thai carrying one look-alike type of Cath Kidston "inspired" bags, haa..

Anyway, I've only brought 3 of them and the brand name is "Cha Lita Wu"..haa..But the quality of the bags is just as good and more affordable.

The fabric is not "oil-cloth" like the original Cath Kidston bags, but rather, it is made from PU material, texture is rather similar like the "oil-cloth" feel ("plastic-water-resistant" feel type but durable)..hee..

News...

Hi all,

I came back from a fulfilling (although worrying) trip from Bangkok last week and amazingly, inner Bangkok was very dry and sunny! I had an enjoyable stay there! Although there was news all over the world that it was flooded and the Travel advisory said not to visit Bangkok, I still went with my gut feeling. The news was totally blown out of proportion actually. Okay, there are still floods but mostly in the outskirts. Please pray for the flood victims and their families and that the floods will recede soon.

My stay in Bangkok was also different this time. Instead of just shopping and eating, I took part in a 4 hour cooking class. It is an intiative by a Christian group to help the poor community there. It was enriching experience and I felt good that I could contribute to the poor community in the slum areas there. I will try to talk more about it in my later posts another day.

Meantime, I will be announcing my new range of limited edition Jim Thompson bags. only 6 pieces. So it is while stocks last! Sorry that I couldn't bring back that many from Bangkok due to the worrying situation there. I was a little bit paranoid that the the city area could be flooded anytime and I didn't want to risk my life. But my worries were unfounded actually.;p

Balinese .0925 dingle dangle earrings – SGD$33.90
These earrings are made from sterling silver (including the ear hooks) and they are “longest” amongst the other silver earrings featured. The whole drop (from the hooks) measures about 6cm.

It is not ‘loud’ but they’re really modern and cute with “tribal” influence from Bali. Why I say cute? The middle part of the earrings can move too! So with the gust of the wind, your earrings will move to and fro, they are certainly eye-catching!
