New! Teddy bear bags

These medium-sized bags are really cute! You can store most of your daily essentials, like your makeup pouch, wallet or notebook etc. I’ve only two in my teddy bears collection. Sorry. But will import more the next time round. They are “quilt” like and lightly padded. Cloth is made of cotton on linen

A BIG HELLO! WELCOME BACK!

Hi there, everybody!

It's almost midnight and as promised, there are new items in my blogshop.

Today, it's officially "re-opened" with a "Halloween" theme. But no scary items though. Haa... I had spent weeks of planning and also, the entire weekend to do up the descriptions and taking the right shots of my products again and again. But I am glad that I made it through the long process! haa..

I had initially wanted to change the name of my blogshop to "Undeniably Sassy" but am still kinda attached to the original name of the shop. Also, had feedback from friends that the new one sounds too generic.

So the name, "Joandy's Treasures" still stays! :) The focus of this blogshop has been changed, however, to products imported from all over the world.

As for my own handcrafted items, that is, made by yours truly, they will be sold in another shop in Etsy but yet to be confirmed.

Meantime, enjoy the goodies lined up for you and happy browing and buying. ;p

New! - NaRaYa bags

NaRaYa is a popular brand of bags and accessories from Thailand. What makes their products interesting is the type of fabrics (Satin, cotton etc.) used and their cute designs which are functional and appealing to people around the world.

I did not bring back that many to Singapore from my overseas trip to Thailand recently because I didn’t wanna have excess baggage charges and my break was a short one and had to be back before the “rally” started. But I hope you’ll adore them and get one for yourself exclusively. Do grab them while stocks last!

There are other shops in Singapore carrying this brand but I ensure you that my products won’t burn a hole in your pockets. :)

NaRaYa – Checkered satin bag - SOLD

This small bag is suitable as a “lunch tote”. But amazingly, it is roomy enough to store a lot of your daily essentials (including a portable umbrella)! It can be used as a weekend tote too!

Made of High Quality Satin Material with Excellent Workmanship! The interior is made of waterproof vinyl Material and there’s a base to keep the bag in good shape!

Jim Thompson

Jim Thompson was an American businessman and founder of the Thai silk and textile company in the 1950’s. He was also a former U.S. military intelligence officer.

On March 26, Easter Sunday 1967, he left his guesthouse in Malaysia’s Cameron Highlands for early evening pre-dinner stroll and vanished without a trace. His body has never been found. His disappearance is still a mystery till today.

But the memory of him still lives and there are many shops all over Thailand under his name selling high quality products.

I was in Thailand recently and brought back some (only 6 pieces) of Jim Thompson’s canvas tote bags and have put them up for sale in my blogshop at affordable prices.

Although not many, but a Jim Thompson bag certainly means a lot in reliving the memory of his devotion in reviving the silk and textile industry in Thailand which was once lost.

Jim Thompson - Elephants Tote bag: SOLD

Elephants have been revered in Thailand for many centuries. Famous as the strongest beasts of burden, in Thailand they were important in battle, with kings mounted on Elephants fighting the Burmese to defend Thailand on many occasions. They have also been noted for their intelligence, memory and pleasant nature. A Thai legend has it that a marriage is like an elephant-- the husband is the front legs, that choose the direction, the wife the back legs, providing the power !

I remember taking an elephant ride in Chiangmai’s forest and it was a rather pleasant and exhilarating experience. My elephant was big, tall and obedient. But my friend’s elephant stopped by for a drink at a pond. It was a pretty funny sight to see the elephant taking a break and my friend looking rather helpless sitting on its back. Haa…

Black Dragonfly ring – SOLD

You'll fall in love with this pretty Dragonfly ring which is a stunner! Made of onyx, smoky quartz and red coral stones, wire-wrapped, the dragonfly sits nicely on an adjustable brass wire ring base. Handmade in Thailand.

In Japan, dragonflies are symbols of courage, strength, and happiness, and they often appear in art and literature, especially haiku.

An absolutely simple yet gorgeous pink dragonfly bracelet handmade in Thailand with rhodonite stones, pinkish ruby red jade rondelles, and rose quartz.

The bracelet band is made of a brass wire wrapped with wax cotton cord and it can be adjustable according to wrist size. Just bend it gently and wala – the dragonfly looks so “life-like” and it seems like it is fleeting away! 

"Bonita" Flower Ring - SGD $23/-

Alas! The ring has arrived! It was a long wait..the ring took about 1.5 months to get here.

This Cocktail ring is meticulously adorned with vintage Czechoslovakian glass jewels as petals in shape of a flower. Brilliant colors of pink, amber and jade green glass drops attached to a ring base on brass tone, brand new, that is adjustable and of a very high quality.

Imported from Barcelona, the creator who handcrafted this ring said that the vintage Czech glass jewels were picked from an antique house in Prague(the very heart of the Czech Republic). And talking about Prague, I was in Eastern European Holiday a few months ago and it was wonderful experience. Will see if I can bring in more treasures from there too!

This enchanting handcrafted jeweled flower ring is a medium large. Great for any party or for the adventurous type and everyday wear!
