Just a few new uploads today. I've some office reports to read up later on, so I can't make many new items at the moment.

Some of you may be puzzled why I'm selling mostly necklaces in my shop. Well, I've been inspired by some of the necklaces that actresses wear on their TV shows for a long time. Sometimes, I just wonder who their sponsors are. For example, there was a classic silver cross necklace which Teri Hatcher wore quite frequenly in almost every episode of "Desperate Housewives". It caught my eye because there was something unique about it which made me want to own it.:)

So, I thought to myself, why don't I make similar jewelry pieces and sell them affordably online to all the beautiful women in Singapore (maybe around the world in future..haa) who are 'celebrities' in their own way? Hee..

Anyway, I'll be coming up with some earrings in the next few weeks. But maybe after my one week vacation in early Feb 2010. I know most Singaporean women love to wear earrings. hee. But I do have a pair of peranaken earrings still available and bracelets in my shop!;p

Whatever kind of accessory you're wearing, it can flatter or spice up a plain outfit instantly! :)

Natural Turquoise necklace -SOLD

This natural Turquoise pendant is imported from Changzhou, Jiangsu (China).

In the ancient times, Turquoise was considered to be a sacred stone, protective against all manners of evil and ill health.

Also, Turquoise is the alternate birthstone for the month of December (other than Blue Topaz) and it supposedly helps one to embark on new projects. And in the 13th century, Turquoise was thought to protect the wearer from falling especially from horses. Aren't these interesting facts? ;p That's what my supplier from China mentioned.

True or not, why not just wear it as a symbol of Good Fortune for the Year of the Tiger? :) It looks "big" but it's actually quite petite and lightweight. The size of a 10 cent coin.

Dimension: The size of the turquoise drop pendant is 17x11mm. Weight:About 2.5g Lightweight. Attached bail is made from sterling silver. Chain is made of rhodium.

Just a little explanation on the materials used for my handmade jewelry pieces as I had some queries. Most of my silver pendants are of sterling silver meaning, 925 silver (just like those sold in our local shops like "Perllini's" or "Bits and Pieces"). This is good quality grade silver. The same goes for Bali or Karen tribe silver, for example, the "Tree of Life" Pendant featured in my shop, equivalent to 925 silver.

I try to make my products more affordable, hence, I "mix and match" the materials, for instance, the chains, some of which are rhodium ("anti-rust") or silver plated (silver coating). If both the pendant and the chain are of pure 925 silver, it'll be a little bit more 'pricey' like my "Angel Wings" heart necklace. There are other silver pieces made from pewter or they are oxidized. Whatever kind of materials I use for my necklaces, please be rest assured that they are of good quality.

Please read my items' descriptions, especially the "Dimensions and components" for details on the materials I've used.

Silver jewelry is very easy to maintain. For those made from sterling silver, cleaning them with a silver polishing cloth will do. For those which are silver plated, rhodium, pewter or oxidized, just wipe it with a soft piece of cloth but NOT with the silver polishing cloth. To maintain its lusture, polishing helps and keeping it in sealed ziploc little plastic bags which I've provided or in your air-tight jewelry box is recommended.

For those which are made from "enamel", just to let you know that "Enameling is the fusion of a special powdered glass to metals. The glass can be applied using different techniques, but all methods use heat to melt the powder." (extracted from About.com jewelry). Enamel is commonly used in Indian Jewelry and can be very colourful. :)

I hope I've clarified your doubts. I hope to have more new products featured soon, but currently, I have some office work to read up during this weekend, and so, I may only be be able to upload about two or three creations of mine.

"Sakura" (porcelain) necklace - SOLD

This pretty necklace features a handmade Sakura (Japanese Cherry Blossom) porcelain pendant.

Design was stamped into the porcelain using a stamp designed and created by a Japanese-American clay artist, Ms Sumiko B. It was glazed on the front only and high fired to 2232F. A luster glaze was added and it was fired again.

Cherry blossom symbolises good fortune and is also an emblem of love, affection and represents spring. So why not get this necklace as a source of inspiration for yourself or for any other festive season? :)

Dimensions: Pendant measures approximately 1 3/8" with 20" long silver chain included (not sterling silver, but rhodium plated). Imported from the US

This wonderful exquisite little bottle is 1 1/4" tall by 1 1/4" and comes with silver cap that measures 1 3/4 tall. When opened, the cap has a metal applicator attached. Embellishing the bottle on both sides is an antique silver flower with clear rhinestone and a detailed design framing it. Imported from the US!

Attached is a nice quality silver 30" chain. This necklace is meant to be worn long.

I've created this lovely tea set charm bracelet with Czech glass faceted teapot beads and other good quality oxidized silver tea sets. Dimensions and components: The sterling silver chain (925 silver) is a 7 1/2" link with lobster claw attached. Peranakan earrings - SALE! Now $4! (Was SGD$8)

My first upload in my blogshop! A pretty pair of square-shaped floral bead earrings adorned with little Swarovski pink crytals and gold-plated wire ear hooks.

The beads were made from polymer clay (crafted by Adeline from "Art of Clay"). The floral design was inspired by the Peranakan culture, and the hype on the ""Little Nonya" TV programme last year. The earrings are handmade by me and I hope you'll like them!

Dimensions: Pink flower design on purple-blue based beads. Size of beads is measured about 1cm wide on each side. Earrings hang about about 2.5cm long. The hooks are gold-plated.
